Surgical Laser

We are proud to offer laser surgery as a progressive new option for our clients who want the safest and least painful treatment for their pets. A laser is an intense beam of light. Using an instrument that allows it to be precisely controlled, the laser beam replaces the traditional scalpel. The benefits of Laser Surgery include less pain, bleeding, and swelling, as well as a reduced risk of infection and a quicker recovery. In many cases, laser surgery can be extremely beneficial over traditional surgery. Our veterinarians will discuss whether laser surgery is the best option for your pet.

K-Laser Therapy

Tri-County Veterinary Service began offering laser therapy in 2013. Laser therapy (photobiomodulation) stimulates the body’s natural healing factors to improve healing time, increase circulation, and reduce pain and inflammation. We utilize this tool post-operatively on all of our surgery patients and offer treatment packages for a variety of illnesses and conditions. For more information about the K-Laser, watch the Veterinary Client Education video.

Dentistry

Just like you, oral health is an important part of your pet’s wellbeing. Tartar and plaque accumulate over time and can lead to bad breath, as well as periodontal disease, which can have a negative impact on a number of organ systems. At both of our locations, we perform complete dental evaluations and cleanings, as well as tooth extractions, on both dogs and cats. We also carry a variety of at-home dental cleaning products including toothbrushes, toothpaste, dental treats, and water additives.

Laboratory

Both of our locations offer a variety of diagnostic testing, including complete CBC and biochemistry profiles, heartworm testing, urinalysis, parasite screening, and thyroid testing. Our in-house laboratory equipment allows results in as little as 20-30 minutes. Additional tests may be sent to a number of national laboratories. Allergy testing is also available.

Surgery

The doctors at Tri-County Veterinary Service have the training and experience to perform a wide variety of surgical procedures. Routine surgeries and minor surgical procedures are completed in both the Anna and Sidney offices. Orthopedic and more complex surgeries are completed in the Anna office. All surgical patients are monitored throughout the entire procedure to help to minimize any anesthetic complications.

Digital Radiography

The doctors at Tri-County Veterinary Service are excited about the addition of digital radiography to our practice. Digital radiography provides the doctor with an excellent digital image that can then be manipulated allowing for a quicker, more accurate diagnosis. Additionally, the x-ray images can be placed on a flash drive, burnt on CD, or e-mailed to a specialist for review.

Ultrasonography

Ultrasound is another imaging tool offered at Tri-County Veterinary Service. Ultrasound can be helpful in the diagnosis/confirmation of pregnancy and is also very beneficial in the diagnosis of abdominal disease and chronic urinary tract disease.

Pharmacy

Tri-County Veterinary Service maintains a fully stocked veterinary pharmacy that allows our clients to leave at the end of each visit with all of their pet’s medications in hand. We also keep a large animal pharmacy in our Anna office that is ready for any farm needs that arise. Prescription refills can be called in at any time and filled the same day. We also carry a full line of prescription diets to meet all of your pet’s needs.

Senior Wellness Program

Just as a human’s health care needs change as they age, our pets require additional medical care as they grow older. Early detection and proper treatment can extend the lives of our family pets. To address this change in health care needs, Tri-County Veterinary Service has developed a Senior Wellness Program. The program includes a routine examination every 6 months, and complete blood count, chemistry profile, thyroid testing, urinalysis, fecal exam, and blood pressure check every year. Annual vaccinations are free to senior wellness program patients.

Large Animal Services

Breeding Soundness Evaluations (BSEs)

Breeding soundness exams can be completed on small ruminants as well as beef and dairy cattle.

Pregnancy Diagnosis

The doctors at Tri-County Veterinary Service utilize the latest in bovine ultrasound technology to provide quick and accurate pregnancy diagnosis. Pregnancy can be diagnosed in as few as 30 days post-breeding in cattle. We are also able to provide pregnancy diagnosis in sheep and goats.

Sick Animals

Tri-County Veterinary Service provides care for all sick or injured food animal species. The doctors are equipped with well-stocked trucks allowing for the treatment of many different conditions on the farm. In rare cases animals are brought into the Anna office for treatment or referred to The Ohio State University Veterinary Medical Center.

Surgery

Our doctors perform many surgeries on the farm, including the correction of left and right displaced abomasums, bovine and small ruminant cesarean sections, castrations, conventional and cosmetic dehorning, and teaser ram surgery. Umbilical hernia surgeries and some small ruminant procedures are performed in the Anna office.

Preventive Care & Protocol Development

If you are in need of a vaccination or treatment protocol, contact Tri-County Veterinary Service and one of our doctors will work with you to identify your needs and develop the best protocol for you and your farm.

Laboratory

Tri-County Veterinary Service offers a variety of food animal diagnostic testing in the Anna office. Our in-house laboratory equipment allows same-day results on a number of tests, providing us the necessary information to make the best treatment decision for each animal. Available tests include complete CBC and biochemistry profile, down cow and ketotic cow profiles, parasite screening, BVD testing, antibiotic residue testing, and milk culture. Additional tests may be sent out to laboratories at both the state and national level.
